Rapi Gest SF radically enhances the speed and percent recovery of protein enzymatic digestions. This patented anionic surfactant accelerates the in-solution production of peptides generated by proteases, such as Trypsin, Asp-N, Glu-C, Lys-C, and PNGase F. Many hydrophobic proteins are resistant to proteolysis because their cleavage sites are inaccessible to endoproteases. Rapi Gest SF facilitates the digestion of proteolytically resistant proteins and increases the solubility of hydrophobic proteins and peptides. Rapi Gest SF is an MS-compatible mild protein denaturant that helps solubilize and unfold proteins, making them more amenable to cleavage without denaturing or inhibiting common proteolytic enzymes like conventional denaturants. This enables use of lesser amounts of expensive endoproteases.
